National deworming day camp was conducted by the Department of Public Health Dentistry, SRM Dental College, Ramapuram along with Mr. Parivalavan, Head of the Government Higher Secondary School, No.34J6+VR9, Sundaracholavaram Main Rd, Thiruverkadu, Tamil Nadu 600077 on 10/02/2023, Friday. Today being National deworming Day, the importance of deworming was explained to all the students and the need to deworm once in every 6 months was emphasized. The importance of washing hands, especially before eating and after using the toilet to prevent the entry of germs and its consequence on gut health was emphasized and put forth. Awareness about deworming and its necessity in maintaining good gut health was clearly explained. The same was also depicted in a visual format by projecting a video. Tablet Albendazole was distributed to all the participants and made them take it orally. Oral screening was done for all the participants in the school. The right Brushing technique was clearly demonstrated to the participants using a tooth model. Oral hygiene instructions were given to all the participants. Post-demonstration, a questionnaire section was held where queries raised by the participants were answered.
