OVERVIEW OF OUR CAMP :-

The department of public health dentistry, SRM Dental college , Ramapuram gave us an opportunity to conduct a camp to create dental awareness among the school students. The camp was held at Lbeaar Mat Higher Sec School , Nerkundram on 11/2/22 and were guided by interns and post graduate along with our staffs. Our team left the college around 11.00 AM and returned around 3 PM. Dental setup was arranged at the school premise to lead the camp.

The total number of students screened during the camp arerecorded as 180. The individuals are around 9-12 years old. They were examined for the oral hygiene, dental caries and other oral health issues that includes gum diseases, overcrowding, plaque, spacing, etc. The camp also included a talk about dental awareness and preventive measures to be taken to delay further dental caries. We elaborated them the importance of oral hygiene and to follow a healthy lifestyle.

All the young individuals were enthusiast to interact with our team and enquire about their doubts regarding their oral health.

The school staffs and the students thanked us for our service to the school.

ELEMENTS OF OUR CAMP :-

1. Oral screening was done to assess the oral hygiene for the patients which included dental caries, periodontal problems, malocclusion, fracture and other dental anomalies.
2. Oral hygiene was explained briefly and brushing technique was taught to the patients in the camp.
3. After the explanation, patients were asked to imitate the brushing technique.
4. Any queries regarding the brushing technique and oral hygiene were explained to each patient individually by the organizers in detail.
